Starting Jan. 10, the BX drive-thru hours will be changing to 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Respite Care comes to Keesler
A new child care service intended for families of special needs children has been opened at Keesler. Through this program, eligible Air Force families may receive up to 12 hours of respite child care per month at no cost to the family. To be eligible for this program, families must be enrolled in the Air Force Exceptional Family Member Program and have a child up to 18 years of age diagnosed under the EFMP as "moderate" or "severe".

Road and drainage work will close C Street south of the BX/Commissary parking lot for the next three months from the 6th Street extension back to 5th street.
Effective Nov. 10, 2014
The 81st Logistics Readiness Squadron will no longer provide a base shuttle service. Permanent party and temporary duty personnel can utilize the Keesler Taxi service per guidelines and hours of operation identified below.
Taxi Service Hours of Operation:
Mon-Fri: 4:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
Non-training Fridays: 6 a.m.-8 p.m.

Personnel may also utilize the MyMC² app, select Keesler, and under directory look for Keesler Taxi. This will link users to the direct phone line and the Keesler Vehicle Operations Facebook page that contains all the information regarding the taxi service.
Permanent Party (Non-prior Service Students):
Transportation is permitted to or from Air Force scheduled appointments. Travel is not authorized for elective surgery, procedures, or treatments where the member would otherwise not be entitled to government travel.
The taxi may be used between places of business or lodging and eating establishments, similar places required for sustenance of the member, or for the comfort or health of the member. Use of motor vehicles for transportation to or from off-base entertainment or recreational facilities is prohibited.
Note: Military members are NOT authorized transportation to or from airports. Members must utilize commercial taxi or shuttle services.
* Shuttle servicing off-base hotels and on-base lodging for TDY students will not be affected.
New legal assistance
The legal office has new legal assistance hours and procedures. Notaries and other front desk documentary legal assistance remain available 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday on a walk-in basis.
Legal assistance with attorneys will change, as follows:
Mondays, 2-4 p.m. - Walk-in assistance for non-documentary legal assistance with attorneys (custody, divorce, landlord/tenant, etc.)
Tuesdays, 9-10 a.m. - Will assistance by appointment.
Tuesdays, 10 a.m. - Will signing/execution.
Wednesdays - 0900-1100 - Walk-In - non-documentary legal assistance with attorneys (custody, divorce, landlord/tenant, SCRA, etc.)
Thursdays, 1-2 p.m. - Will assistance by appointment.
Thursdays, 2 p.m. - Will signing/execution.
Down Fridays, 10-11 a.m. - Walk-in legal assistance for students.
In order to obtain a will appointment, clients must fill out the legal assistance will worksheet (Go to
https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil/lass/lass.html, then click on Legal Worksheets at the top, then Create Will and Advance Directive Worksheet), record their ticket number, then contact the legal office at 228-376-8601 to schedule an appointment. In most cases, the will should be completed at that appointment, ready to be signed and executed that day. Clients who have previously prepared, but not executed, a will may sign/execute it at any of the Will Signings, without an appointment. Emergency, deployment, and other unusual cases can be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
Privately owned vehicle shipments
International Auto Logistics is the Department of Defense privately owned vehicle, global contractor. DOD military and civilian members with orders authorizing POV shipment or storage can make an appointment at an IAL vehicle processing center by calling 1-855-389-9499. This number will direct service members to the proper VPC or to IAL customer service for assistance.
Customers may also visit www.PCSmyPOV.com for information and helpful links to schedule an appointment; find a VPC address and directions; view helpful videos on shipping, storing and picking up their vehicle and more. IAL's continental United States VPC's are located in Atlanta, Baltimore, Charleston, South Carolina, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Norfolk, Virginia.
As an effort to capture customer POV shipment complaints and inquiries, the U.S. Transportation Command IG Team has established the e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org for customers to contact them.

Service members are ordered not to enter or patronize these off-limits establishments or their locations. This restriction does not apply to Armed Forces police on duty or others on official business. Violations of this order are punishable under Article 92, Uniform Code of Military Justice.
Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support has discontinued administration of paper-based Praxis at DANTES test sites, including Keesler. Candidates can find test centers at www.ets.org/praxis.
DANTES will continue to fund one administration of the Praxis I and one administration of the Praxis II: Subject Assessments, per lifetime.
Requests for reimbursement must be completed within 90 days of test administration.

Legal Office Extends Hours
The legal hours for assistance are as follows: Monday 1:30 pm - 4:00pm; Wednesday 8:30 a.m.-11:00 am and on non-training Fridays for students only, 10 a.m.-11 a.m.
Medical Center restricted by warrior training
Keesler Medical Center provides reduced service during warrior training 1-5 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. Family health, internal medicine, pediatrics and general surgery clinics will each have one doctor available for urgent appointments. For urgent situations, contact Central Appointments at 1-800-700-8603 or report to the emergency room.
Although pharmacy, radiology and laboratory services are open, they will have reduced staffing. Patients are asked to delay visits to these services during warrior training.
For emergency situations such as shortness of breath, chest or abdominal pain or bleeding with pregnancy, please go to the nearest emergency room. In the event of an emergency, contact 911 for an ambulance.
The Keesler Medical Center staff is committed to maintaining the highest level of war and peacetime readiness. It does this through monthly training sessions. They apologize for any inconvenience.
Flight medicine clinic moved
The 81st Aerospace Medicine Squadron's flight medicine clinic has moved to the 81st Medical Operations Squadron family health clinic area at Keesler Medical Center. Phone numbers are unchanged.

Airman Against Drunk Driving
AADD provides a free service to all Defense Department cardholders, including dependents. Callers must show CAC ID at pickup to get rides back to base.

New Civilian Pay Organization mailbox
The 81st Comptroller Squadron has added a new civilian pay organization mailbox (Keesler Civ Pay Team). With this new addition, 81st CPTS is able to better organize and track emails, as well as any and all follow-up concerns being locked out of ATAAPs, needing new USER ID/Passwords, to issues and questions with an individual's pay. Everything will funnel through this organization box.
