A new addition to the Bay Breeze Golf Course is helping make the game of golf more enjoyable and rewarding for novice and experienced players.

Power Tees, an automated ball teeing system, aims to help regular golfers improve their game, swing and to attract young golfers to the course.

Keesler is one of only two courses across the Air Force participating in a Power Tee 20-month test initiative funded by the Air Force Services Agency. The base course is also the first on the Mississippi Gulf Coast to have the tees, aimed to appeal to a wide variety of golfers by improving their experience at the range.

“By improving their experience at the driving range, you help to improve the overall golf experience,” said Luke Rooney, Bay Breeze Golf Course manager. “The tees are also helping players to improve their swing and for those who are new to the game it helps to build their confidence and makes the experience even more fun!”

So far, eight out of Keesler’s 12 driving range tees have been converted to the Power Tee system.

The grand opening for the Driving Range Power Tees will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 20. During the event attendees will have an opportunity to hit free golf balls off the tees, check out new merchandise in the pro shop and speak with our golf professionals.
