The 81st Training Wing Inspector General office staff earned the Lt. Gen. John P. Flynn IG Award at both the active duty wing -and major command level here June 14.

Throughout the last year, the 81st IG team handled 113 formal complaints, six congressional inquiries and three senior leader adverse actions.

The Flynn award recognizes complaints resolution programs across active duty, Guard and Reserve bases, and focuses on six fundamental characteristics of Flynn’s leadership model: integrity, justice, compassion, loyalty, courage and spirit.

“Thanks to Stephanie Goff’s [81st IG complaints resolution director] dedication, we achieved a 96 percent case resolution rate in less than 15 days, which is 52 percent above the Defense Department’s standard,” said Lt. Col. Steven Mullins, 81st TRW IG. “Keesler is Air Education and Training Command’s second-largest technical training wing, and thanks to Ms. Goff and the team’s efforts, our complaint intake process was named a ‘best practice’ by AETC.”
