Lt. Col. Norris Jackson, incoming 81st Surgical Operations Squadron commander, received command from Col. Ryan Mihata, outgoing 81st MSGS commander, during a change of command ceremony here, July 9.

Col. Beatrice Dolihite, 81st Medical Group commander, presided over the ceremony.

Prior to becoming the 81st MSGS commander, Jackson was the 319th Medical Operations Squadron commander at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota.

"I am truly looking forward to this opportunity to serve the 81st MSGS,” said Jackson.

Mihata credits every part of the 81st MSGS for the success during his time as commander.

“This is about the surgical operators, Airmen, active-duty members, reservists, guardsmen, civilian employees and the contractors,” said Mihata. “We all contributed to the success of the 81st MSGS. I want to thank you for that.”

Mihata’s next assignment will be at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, where he will be the commander of the 86th Medical Group.
