For our Fallen Warrior commemoration this week, we remember U.S. Army Spc. Bryan Barron, 155th Infantry Regiment infantryman.

Originally from Biloxi, Mississippi, Barron enlisted in the Mississippi National Guard in 2004.

He was deployed to Iraq and expected to come home in June 2005 for his daughter's first birthday.

On May 23, 2005, in Haswa, Iraq, Barron's military vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device and he lost his life along with three other individuals.

Military officials dedicated the Spc. Bryan E. Barron Army National Guard Readiness Center in his honor.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Editor's note: The Fallen Warrior series highlights Fallen Warriors who exemplify our core values and paid the ultimate sacrifice. Take a moment to honor this week’s hero.
