Keesler hosts strategic "Pathways to Blue" ROTC event

Keesler Air Force Base will host 280 Air Force ROTC cadets from 15 universities April 6 and 7 as part of “Pathways to Blue,” a diversity outreach event hosted by the 2nd Air Force.

The main goal of the outreach event is to provide the cadets a glimpse of critically manned Air Force career fields. Cadets will arrive from the following universities: Alabama State University, Auburn University, Baylor University, Louisiana State University, Louisiana Technical University, Jackson State University, Mississippi State University, Samford University, Troy State University, Tulane University, Tuskegee University, University of Alabama, University of Houston, University of Puerto Rico, University of South Alabama, and University of Southern Mississippi.

Cadets will receive an orientation flight along with hands-on briefings on technical and flying operations in support of the Air Force’s Diversity Strategic Roadmap program. Sixty mentors from 39 Air Force specialties will provide one-on-one and small group instruction and advice. The two-day schedule includes orientation sessions in science technology engineering and mathematics (STEM), operations, and support areas such as cyber, battlefield Airmen, medical, and aircrew flight operations. The visit will also include T-1 Jayhawk, T-6 Texan, TH-1H Iroquois, MC-130J Commando II, and WC-130J Hercules static displays and incentive flights with the 403rd Wing.
