Vehicle incident on base, conditions updated

KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- Two of the Airmen injured yesterday in a single-vehicle non-training related incident on Keesler Air Force Base were treated at Keesler Medical Center and the third at a medical facility in New Orleans. All three are currently in stable condition.

"This is a tragic accident and loss for the 81st Training Wing and our community,” said Col. Bill Hunter, 81st Training Wing commander. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our Airmen and we are thinking of and praying for all those involved.”

Next of kin notification has been made and the name of the deceased Airman is being withheld until 24 hours following the notification.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has jurisdiction as the incident took place on federal property and the individual involved is a civilian.
