Airman 1st Class Bryan Baker, 81st Security Forces Squadron alarm monitor, monitors Keesler’s security alarms Nov. 21, 2014, at the Base Defense Operation Center, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. Baker will be spending Thanksgiving making sure emergencies that might happen on base are monitored. With a year under his belt at his first base, he loves doing his job. Senior Airman Jeffery Spivey, Keesler firefighter dispatch operator, keeps a log of firefighter activities Nov. 21, 2014, at the Fire Department fire alarm communication center, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. Spivey will be working this Thanksgiving to help keep the base safe. In his four and a half years of living on Keesler, he misses his family back home but doesn’t mind working on the holidays because he gets to be with his Air Force family at the fire department. Wilson and Bumpus will be working on Thanksgiving to ensure Airmen on base will receive the best holiday meals possible. Keesler personnel donates toys to local youth court

Staff Sgt. Quyen Nichols and Tech. Sgt. Michael James, 81st Training Wing chaplain assistants, with the assistance of Chaplain (Maj.) Robert Monagle, 81st TRW chaplain, load a box of toys into a van Nov. 21, 2014, at the Levitow Training Support Facility Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., to be delivered to the Hancock County Youth Court. KMC exercises accident response KMC exercises  ...
KMC exercises accident response

The Keesler Medical Center decontamination team processes “victim” Senior Airman Willie Moore, 81st Logistics Readiness Squadron, during the Nov. 5 major accident response exercise. The exercise scenario involved an Airman accidentally hitting a chemical drum with forklift tines while unloading it from a truck. A drum ruptureed and others were pushed off the truck. Several other Airmen assisting with the unloading are splashed with the brown oily liquid and immediately start to experience skin and eye burns. Additional airmen on the loading dock and in the warehouse start coughing and experiencing shortness of breath. The Airmen that are splashed with the chemical immediately get in a vehicle and head to the Emergency Room. Another airman in the warehouse calls 911 and reports the incident. “Victims” were decontaminated before being triaged and taken into the medical center for care.
