Former Keesler civilian celebrates 100th birthday

Idella Urie of Biloxi, who celebrates her 100th birthday Sept. 1, goes through a scrapbook with Tomme Lassabe, trainer development flight chief for the 81st Training Support Squadron, during a Sept. 26 visit to Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. Urie came to work at Keesler in 1942 to fabricate and replace plexiglass windshields and windows in aircraft during World War II and went on to develop plastic training aids.
