Warrior Care Month: 'Wounded Warrior Walk" Published Nov. 10, 2010 By Steve Pivnick 81st Medical Group Public Affairs KEESLER AFB, Miss. -- Keesler AFB celebrates Warrior Care Month during November. The second annual "Wounded Warrior Walk" is slated for Nov. 13 on the Ocean Springs-Biloxi Bridge. The walking or running starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 11. Donations will be accepted as they were last year with all proceeds going to local South Mississippi wounded, injured or ill service members. A total of $1,400 was raised during the 2009 walk. Donna Anderson, 81st Medical Group Active Duty Wounded Warrior Program manager, said, "This our second year of doing the Warrior Walk. The goal is to raise awareness in our community and honor those who have suffered war injuries or illness. We accept donations for the Wounded Warrior Fund established to assist our injured and ill veterans with financial difficulties. Our local Disabled American Veterans and other military services come to support the walk."
