Operation Hero educates about deployment

Carlos Cadet, Jr., son of U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Jalisa Cadet, Keesler Marine Detachment administration clerk, runs through an obstacle course as he is escorted by Cpl. Davis Steiner, Keesler MARDET instructor, and followed by Pfc. Janathan Singh, Keesler MARDET student, during Operation Hero at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, April 6, 2019. The event, hosted by the Airman and Family Readiness Center in recognition of the Month of the Military Child, gave military children a glimpse into the lives of deployed military members. Children received Operation Hero dog tags and t-shirts as they made their way through the mock deployment line as well as the opportunity to experience medical triage demonstrations, gas mask training and have their faces painted.
