The 81st Medical Group team has once again fallen within the top 10 percent of eligible hospitals for providing outstanding customer service and high-quality health care.

“The recognition came from (responses to) the TRICARE Inpatient Satisfaction Survey,” said Senior Master Sgt. David Alvarado, 81st Inpatient Operation Squadron superintendent. “Our inpatient units have been number one in the Defense Department for the first three quarters of this year and are poised to secure the fourth quarter as well.”

The Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems officially rated the 81st MDG in the top 10 percent for overall hospital rating and the top 10 percent of recommended hospitals.

The findings are a reflection of the 21,000 patient surveys completed between January and March. During the first three quarters of the year more than 5,500 patients received inpatient care at the Keesler Medical Center.

“I’m humbled and proud to be the leader for a team that continues to provide exceptional care to our patients each and every day,” said Lt. Col. Michelle Aastrom, 81st IPTS commander.
