81st FSS welcomes new commander

Maj. Amber Ortiz, incoming 81st Force Support Squadron commander, took command from Lt. Col. Teresa Ammons, outgoing 81st FSS commander, during a change of command ceremony here June 15.

Col. Danny Davis, 81st Mission Support Group commander, presided over the ceremony.

Ortiz came to Keesler Air Force Base from Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, where she was a student of the Air Command and Staff College.

"The 81st FSS has a vitally important mission; a mission that directly impacts our Airmen and civilians every day and one that enables every other mission on base,” said Ortiz. “I am excited to join the 81st FSS and the Keesler team in making these missions successful.”

Ammons expressed her gratitude to the men and women of the 81st FSS in her final address as commander. 

"You guys have been nothing short of amazing and I couldn't have done this without you," said Ammons.
