The 81st Training Wing successfully completed its first Unit Effectiveness Inspection capstone event Sept. 17, with an overall effective rating.

"I am incredibly proud of our Airman, military and civilian,” said Col. Debra Lovette, 81st Training Wing commander. “The inspection was an opportunity to showcase the sustained superior performance and talent which resides here every day.”

The wing received an effective rating in each of the individual four major graded areas – managing resources, leading people, improving the unit and executing the mission.

During the week-long event, inspectors met with 81st TRW members in various organizations to determine unit performance based on the new UEI construct.

The UEI is meant to improve and modernize the Air Force operational readiness inspection system, which had not had a major overall in decades. Under the new inspection process, wing members are responsible for self-evaluation within their respective units, reporting areas for improvement to the Inspector General and then work within their unit to develop and implement a corrective plan of action.

“The hard work, the commitment to mission, the true performance that happens every day here in our Wing is a constant and our UEI validated that for us,” said Lovette.

Keesler’s last UEI was in October 2016 which also resulted in an effective rating.
