Scholarships awarded to 5 graduates

Five students received scholarship awards at the Community College of the
Air Force graduation Nov. 9.

Tech. Sgt. Shannon Danko and Staff Sgts. Ashley Iovieno and Kyle Schmidt received $400 Pitsenbarger Awards and $100 excellence awards from William Carey University.

Sergeant Danko, 366th Training Squadron Detachment 6 at the Naval Construction
Battalion Center inGulfport, is majoring in respiratory therapy with California College.

Sergeant Iovieno, 81st Medical Support Squadron, is in the nursing preparatory
program at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. MGCCC also presented her
with a $100 award.

Sergeant Schmidt, 335th TRS, is majoring in business administration/finance with Columbia Southern University.  

MGCCC also presented $100 awards to Staff Sgt.
Gilbert Barrera, 332nd TRS, who plans to pursue a degree in computer science technology at the University of Southern Mississippi, and Senior Airman Ashli Maldonado, 81st Medical Operations Squadron, who's majoring in biological sciences
at USM.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University gave each of the 55 students in attendance
at the ceremony a $100 excellence award
