Keesler Medical Center has expanded its surgical caseload to include ophthalmic procedures, according to Lt. Col. Barbara Coppedge, operating room flight commander and acting surgery flight commander.

In a recent conference for the surgery staff, Maj. (Dr.) Keith Berry covered the pre-, intra- and post-operative phases of ophthalmic surgical patients.

Major Berry is director of ophthalmology and refractive surgical services for the 81st Surgical Operations Squadron.

The conference promoted quality patient care through open discussion, education and ongoing communication in preparation for these surgical procedures.
