Blake Fitness Center extends hours Published June 18, 2015 By Airman 1st Class Duncan McElroy 81st Training Wing Public Affairs KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- Starting last month, the Blake Fitness Center extended its hours of operation to 24/7. Available to permanent party active duty, Guard and Reserve Airmen, Sailors and Marines, they are able to access the building after regular operating hours end using their Common Access Cards, explained Ronald Walker, base fitness center operations manager. "We worked closely with the 81st Force Support Squadron to make this possible," said Bill Jinske, Benefit Health and Fitness owner. "There's a big emphasis of physical fitness in the Air Force, so we wanted to meet the need." In order to register, applicants must complete a Statement of Understanding using a Share Point site passed down by unit commanders and first sergeants, added 2nd Lt. Candace Weiser, 81st FSS Sustainment Flight officer in charge. "We also want to emphasize members to use the wingman concept," she added. "Since there won't be staff on hand past regular closing hours, it's important to stay safe while exercising." For more information, call the Blake Fitness Center, 228-377-4385.
