After 61 years of stories, photographs and memories, an important era in the Keesler News history is coming to an end.

Two printed editions remain before we transition to an exclusive online presence: The week of April 23 and April 30.

Hopefully these caveats will help answer many of our reader's questions/concerns:

- Multiple reasons drove the decision to end the printed copy: dwindling resources, rapid pace of a changing news environment, technological advances i.e. smart phones, and customer feedback were all factors.

-The decision to transition to digital reflects what's going on in fledgling corporate publishing and military newspapers worldwide - survival by re-inventing themselves with an online presence.

-All Air Force public websites are being upgraded, including Keesler.af.mil, to make them more friendly, intuitive and accessible to all mobile formats. Keesler's new look should roll out soon.

-PA news coverage and photography never stops. We will strive to make online stories and images at www.keesler.af.mil remain current, constant and relevant, with richer and more robust content as we focus more resources on in-depth coverage of Keesler's people and missions.

-We still need Team Keesler to help us tell the Air Force story: celebrating Airmen's achievements, promoting our diverse missions, and informing internal and external stakeholders. This remains a cornerstone of what we do. Keep sending inputs, requests and suggestions to 81trw.pa@keesler.af.mil.

Thank you for the continued support - Public Affairs looks forward to serving Team Keesler with quality products as we usher in a fresh, exciting era in digital news at www.keesler.af.mil!
