81st SFS welcomes new commander

Maj. Matthew R. Lowe, incoming 81st Security Forces Squadron commander, received command from Lt. Col. Jonathon M. Murray, outgoing 81st SFS commander, during a change of command ceremony here, May 31.
 

Col. Marcia L. Quigley, 81st Mission Support Group commander, presided over the ceremony.
 

Prior to becoming the 81st SFS commander, Lowe was the Deputy Chief of Standards and Evaluation, Officer Training School, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.
 

"I want to thank Col. Blackwell, Chief Pizzuto, and Col. Quigley for giving me this opportunity,” said Lowe. “This position is a huge responsibility and I don’t take it lightly.”

 

Murray expressed his pride in the 81st SFS and what they have accomplished during his time as commander in his final address.

 

The 81st SFS has accomplished a great deal in the past two years” said Murray. “Today, I’m proud to say Keesler Air Force Base is more secure than it has ever been in its history.
 

Murray’s next assignment will be at Yokota Air Base, Japan, where he will be the commander of the 374th Security Forces Squadron.
