KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- A ribbon cutting ceremony highlighting a new layer of surveillance capability at the Keesler West Falcon off-base housing area on Pass Road is scheduled for 1 p.m. Dec. 15.
Security cameras were recently installed in the housing area as a new form of deterrence to criminal activity. This surveillance capability is significant because it allows for a 24/7 detection system 365 days a year.
“I'd like to reassure all housing residents that we are concerned with everyone's safety,” said Maj. Jonathon Murray, 81st Security Forces Squadron commander. “Our Defenders take great pride in knowing that our mission is to detect, deter and defend against any threat to the base and its personnel. Our off-base housing areas present a challenge that we are continuing to address. These cameras are another step in that direction.”
Media interested in covering the ribbon cutting ceremony should RSVP to the Public Affairs office by noon Dec. 14. Call (228) 377-1179 or email 81trw.pa@us.af.mil.
