The Keesler Air Force Base Air Show and Open House is right around the corner March 28-29. In order to ensure attendees have the best time possible, Team Keesler would like to pass on some helpful tips for the event.

The air show will be held on the flightline with very limited access to shaded areas. Sunscreen, sunglasses, hats and small folding umbrellas are highly recommended. Additionally, due to the volume of aircraft engine noise expected, hearing protection should be worn during all aerial acts.

There will be limited to no seating, so comfortable shoes are a must for the day. Also, you are encouraged to bring small folding chairs or lawn chairs. If required, folding wheelchairs will be permitted for the day.

If you will be attending with infants or small children, umbrella strollers and small diaper bags are allowed, but remember, space is extremely limited and items like large strollers or umbrellas may not fit on the parking shuttles.

The Air Show and Open House is about showcasing America’s Air Power, so please feel free to bring cell phones, cameras and camcorders to record the day’s events.

Please be aware the event is taking place on a military installation so security is a top priority for the base and our guests.

Ice chests, coolers, large bags, duffel bags and briefcases will NOT be permitted.

All weapons, regardless of permit, including firearms, knives, to include pocket knives and multi-tools, pepper spray, tasers, and walking sticks, unless required for handicap use, are prohibited. The use of UHF/VHF radio transceivers is also not allowed and security retains the right to determine whether an item poses a security risk.

All attendees and vendors are subject to search. Vehicles on-base are also subject to search and require all legal documentation, (proof of insurance, registration and license).

Please remember to keep track of your belongings. Unattended bags and packages will be removed immediately from the premises.

Admission and parking are free for the day. Food and beverages will be for sale at concessionaire pricing.

The same show will occur on both days, March 28-29, weather permitting.
