Keesler hosts Freedom Fest June 30

The annual free Fourth of July celebration, Freedom Fest, is scheduled for June 30 from 4 to 9:30 p.m. at the Keesler Marina Park.

The event is open to base ID cardholders. Friends and families are welcome to enjoy the festivities with fun, food, music, activities, and a grand fireworks display.

There will be various team and individual competitions, carnival rides, a splash zone with water slides, games, pontoon boat rides, a zorb ball race and a gladiator joust arena. Fireworks will begin 9 p.m. and is scheduled to run for approximately 25 minutes. The event will feature the U.S. Army’s 41st Army Band’s rock band from the Mississippi Air National Guard, Jackson, Mississippi. This free concert will take place on the Marina stage.

Parking for attendees will be available at the Bay Breeze Event Center and the Youth Center ball fields. Shuttle service will be available from the Event Center and ballfields beginning at 3:45 and will continue throughout the event.  No parking will be available inside the park.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. This event will take place rain or shine.
