Keesler completed construction and repairs to the runway March 14. After reopening, the airfield returned to normal flight operations.

The runway closed November 2022 for repairs and some flying operations relocated to Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center during the time of construction.

The 81st Training Wing airfield operations support the 403rd Wing, the 815th Airlift Squadron and the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron “Hurricane Hunters”, responsible for providing tactical airlift support during contingency operations, weather reconnaissance and combat support.
