A sentence was returned April 24 in the general court-martial of Tech. Sgt. Bobby Bass.

After being convicted of 31 specifications in an almost seven-day court-martial, Bass was sentenced to six months confinement, reduction to the rank of staff sergeant and forfeiture of $1,000 a month for three months.

For the charges and specifications relating to his time as a military training instructor at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas in 2009, he was found guilty of 11 of 11 specifications of dereliction and failure to obey a lawful order, 13 of 16 specifications of cruelty and maltreatment, two of two specifications of wrongful sexual contact, and four of four specifications of assault.

The court-martial also included charges stemming from Bass' deployment to the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan in 2007 and 2008. He was found not guilty of forcible sodomy and found guilty of the unprofessional relationship charge.

The two incidents came to light after the Air Force launched comprehensive internal and external investigations at Air Force basic military and technical training centers.
