KEESLER HOLDS GENERAL COURT-MARTIAL FOR FORMER MTI

The case of a former Air Force military training instructor (MTI) facing charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice is scheduled to go to a general court-martial on Monday, April 15, at 8:30 a.m., at Keesler Air Force Base.

Tech. Sgt. Bobby Bass, 81st Training Wing Command Post, is charged with 11 specifications of dereliction of duty, 16 specifications of cruelty and maltreatment, two specifications of wrongful sexual contact and four specifications of assault, all of which stem from misconduct allegedly committed during his time as an MTI at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas in 2009.

Also included are charges stemming from Bass' deployment to the Transit Center at Manas in 2007 and 2008 which include a forcible sodomy and unprofessional relationship charge.

Bass is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
