Keesler resumes operations Published Aug. 29, 2012 By 060812 KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- Normal base operations are scheduled to resume Aug. 30, to include base cleanup measures as required. Mission essential personnel are directed to report to base at 9 a.m. while non-mission essential personnel report by noon. Leadership continues to stress the importance of safety, and remind personnel to remain in close contact with their chain of command if they have travel concerns. Personnel can travel to and from base during county curfews to report to work as required, and should carry their ID cards with them. More details for base operations are as follows: Mission essential personnel include damage assessment teams, facility managers, unit control centers, medical control centers, group control centers and 81st Training Group instructors. All gates are scheduled to be open on the morning of Aug. 30. Dining facilities will serve breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and resume normal hours for lunch and dinner. The Keesler Child Development Center and Youth Center will open at 8 a.m. The hospital will resume with scheduled appointments at 9 a.m. Appointments scheduled before then should stop in the clinic or reschedule. The emergency room is always open for emergencies. The exchange and commissary will open at noon. There will be a level 2 crisis action team meeting at 10:30. The airfield will be open in time for the C-130s to return as scheduled on Friday.
