KEESLER WINS TREE CITY AWARD AND CELEBRATES ARBOR DAY Published April 20, 2010 By 020410 KEESLER AFB, MS -- IMMEDIATE RELEASE: KEESLER WINS TREE CITY AWARD AND CELEBRATES ARBOR DAY In celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day, Keesler AFB will have a tree planting ceremony and be awarded the Tree City USA Award Thursday, April 22 at 8:30 a.m. at the Child Development Center. This is Keesler's 17th consecutive win of the award, which recognizes the importance the base places on good tree management and commitment of budgetary resources. The festivities will continue at the new AAFES Base Exchange from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. where personnel will distribute educational information on environmental stewardship, recycling, and pollution prevention.
