Col. Christopher Robinson is the Commander of the 81st Training Wing at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, where he oversees the technical training of over 27,000 military personnel and civilians annually. He is responsible for the technical training across 38 critical skillsets vital to the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Space Force, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, Department of Defense agencies, and international partners. Safeguarding $4.7 billion in real property and equipment, Col. Robinson also directs operations for 12,000 permanent party Airmen, ensuring readiness for expeditionary air, space, and cyberspace forces. Furthermore, he manages airfield operations supporting 20 C-130J Super Hercules aircraft and the Department of Defense's only aerial weather reconnaissance mission “Hurricane Hunters.”
Commissioned through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the Auburn University in Alabama, Col. Robinson has served extensively in communications and cyber operations, leading at squadron, group and wing levels, component commands, combatant commands, and Air Staff. Col. Robinson has deployed and employed in place to support Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, Odyssey Dawn, Freedom’s Sentinel, and Inherent Resolve. He has led cyber operations and intelligence activities to support U.S. Cyber Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, and the National Security Agency.
Prior to assuming command at Keesler, Col. Robinson served as the Military Deputy Director of Command, Control, Communications, and Cyber Systems (J6), U.S. Transportation Command at Scott AFB, Illinois.
