Keesler child overcomes challenges with activity
Master Sgt. Michael Doane, 2nd Air Force, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., his wife, Jessica and his daughter, Emily, 7, tackled the 4.2-mile Abrams Falls Trail during a vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park last summer. Emily was born nine weeks premature with underdeveloped lungs, spent a month in neonatal intensive care and was diagnosed with asthma when she was 4 years old. She is involved in physical activities to help strengthen her lungs and deal with the affects of asthma. (Courtesy photo)
