Honor Flight trip participants welcomed home

Douglas Anderson, a World War II Navy veteran from Pascagoula, is welcomed home by Lt. Col. Michael Callender, 334th Training Squadron commander, from Mississippi’s first Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., May 11 at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport. Airport security officer Kathryn Morong guides Mr. Anderson through the welcoming crowd. Mr. Anderson and 90 other war veterans, who passed through an aisle of state flags held by Keesler students at the airport, visited the World War II Memorial and other sites in the nation's capital.
