Fisher House donation
Jim Skelton, left, presents a $605 donation to Keesler Fisher House manager Larry Vetter March 29. Mr. Skelton, a retired senior master sergeant who resides at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, represented the 966th Airborne Early Warning and Control Squadron “Gold Diggers,” a Vietnam war-era EC-121 Constellation unit originally from the former McCoy AFB, Orlando, Fla. He said he had looked at a number of charities and found the Fisher House has “one of the lowest – if not the lowest – ratio of overhead versus money donated. Ninety-six percent of donations actually go to the organization and only 4 percent to overhead.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Steve Pivnick)
