Former Keesler civilian celebrates 100th birthday
Idella Urie of Biloxi, who celebrates her 100th birthday Sept. 1, was a special visitor to Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, on Sept. 26. Urie came to work at Keesler in 1942 to fabricate and replace plexiglass windshields and windows in aircraft during World War II and went on to develop plastic training aids. She retired from federal employment at Keesler in 1973, more than 40 years ago. (U.S. Air Force photo by Kemberly Groue)
