The 81st Training Wing just launched a new way for Keesler’s Airmen and families to get news, updates and leadership messages – a mobile app.

The free Keesler Air Force Base app provides a one-stop shop for all things Keesler and is available in the Google Play Store for Android phones and Apple’s iTunes App Store for iPhones.

“I’m excited to introduce this new tool for our Dragons,” said Chief Master Sgt. Vegas Clark, 81st TRW command chief. “We’re always looking for new, better ways to communicate and I think because of its accessibility, we’ve found the right way to get the news out when it matters most.”

Featuring a phone directory, events calendar, news, photos and video, social media, volunteer information and more, the app gives users consolidated, instant access to any information they may need.

Users can also expect push notifications from base leadership about significant events that may impact base operations, like road or gate closures.

“It is important to us that every member of the Keesler community is aware of what’s going on in and around the installation,” said Col. Michele Edmondson, 81st TRW commander, “I believe that this app provides us a fantastic way to get current and relevant information to our Airmen and our families.”

The app will also receive regular updates to add improvements and other functionality.

“I found it very user-friendly,” said Tech. Sgt. Meshanda Lopez, Air Force Legal Operations Agency special victims’ paralegal. “I like the interface and the service it provides.”

To download the app go to your phone's app store and search “Keesler Air Force Base,” then select the “Get” or “Install” buttons. Those who have downloaded the app are also encouraged to provide improvement suggestions using the ‘Contact Us’ button on the home screen.
