Being a military spouse is no easy job. They deal with deployments, temporary duty assignments, permanent changes of station, powers of attorney, and most importantly, their children.
Keesler's Airman & family readiness center hosted Pamper Me Day on May 9, to give spouses a day to themselves.

"We are honoring and appreciating spouses for what they do," said Lana Smith, Airman & family readiness center community readiness consultant.

Many military spouses attended the event, and representatives from the community donated food and services to show their appreciation. The event gave spouses a break from their everyday responsibilities and tasks, while giving the base an opportunity to thank them for their sacrifices.

"Pamper Me Day was a breath of fresh air," said Carolyn "CJ" Johnson, executive-assistant to the 81st Training Wing Commander and military spouse. "All generations of mothers were represented, from retired mothers to soon-to-be mothers. Military spouses are a part of the military family. This is something the base did for us, willingly and with class."

Keesler has held Pamper Me Day for the past nine years, offering spouses free manicures, hair styling, makeup, or a 15-20 minute massage. Wine tastings were available as well as cosmetic and skin care products and jewelry.
