Keesler members run in Air Force marathon

Several Keesler members joined 11,423 participants in the 16th annual Air Force Marathon Sept. 15, 2012 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

The Air Force Marathon takes place the third Saturday of every September in celebration of the U.S. Air Force anniversary and includes a full marathon, half marathon, 10-Kilometer race and 5-Kilometer race. The races traverse historical places on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base including the National Museum of the United States Air Force, the Air Force Institute of Technology and the Wright Brothers Memorial Monument.

The top finishing times for the events were 2:28:58 in the full marathon, 1:07:32 in the half marathon, 33:57 in the 10-K race, and 15:49 in the 5-K race.

Members who participated in the full marathon from Keesler include:

Joshua Ord, 334th Training Squadron, placed 18 overall out of 3,298 with a time of 2:51:00.

John Frey, 81st Inpatient Operations Squadron, placed 213 overall with a time of 3:55:52.

Jason Parker, 81st Aerospace Medicine Squadron, placed 456 overall with a time of 4:32:44.

Casy Boomershine, 81st Logistics Readiness Squadron, placed 575 overall with a time of 4:50:35.

Rose Bautista, 81st Surgical Operations Squadron, placed 584 overall with a time of 4:51:36.

Annette Owens, 333rd TRS, placed 621 overall with a time of 4:57:25.

Norites Bittig, 81st Dental Squadron, placed 699 overall with a time of 5:12:46.

Percy Fish, 336th TRS, placed 743 overall with a time of 5:22:01.

Brandon Eberhardt, 336th TRS, placed 824 overall with a time of 5:44:16.

Brady Dunbar, 334th TRS, placed 930 overall with a time of 6:28:02.

Members who participated in the half marathon from Keesler include:

Geoffrey Sasaki, 81st Diagnostics and Therapeutics Squadron, placed 130 out of 5,448 with a time of 1:46:55.

Brad Wheeler, 81st MDTS, placed 1598 overall with a time of 2:28:52.

Molly Brown, 81st IPTS, placed 1787 overall with a time of 2:16:15.

Nelson Viniegra, 81st Medical Operations Squadron placed 3037 overall with a time of 2:30:24.

Michael Boomershine, spouse of Casy Boomershine, placed 3307 overall with a time of 2:37:48.

Terrance Owens, 336th TRS, placed 3667 overall with a time of 2:47:34.

Martha Prieto-Moreno, 81st Medical Group, placed 3542 overall with a time of 2:42:44.

Tanya Capper, 81 IPTS, placed 3903 overall with a time of 2:53:55.

No Keesler members participated in the 10-K or 5-k races.
