Three Keesler Airmen win 2010 AETC awards

Three Keesler members won Air Education and Training Command annual awards for 2010.

The winners are:

Air traffic control training achievement -- Master Sgt. Stephen Carter, 81st Operations Support Flight chief air traffic controller. Sergeant Carter revamped the air traffic control
training program, leading to a 36 percent reduction in air traffic control upgrade time. He
oversaw the safe completion of more than 19,000 sorties with zero mishaps or delays. He also inspected 16 air traffic control training records and reduced documentation  errors by 95 percent.

Outstanding Air Force aviation resource management award --Tech. Sgt. Betty Love,  334th Training Squadron aviation resource management instructor. Sergeant Love supervised 40 students for more than 828 classroom hours and maintained an 86 percent grade point average within her classes. She saved more than $17,000 in retraining costs by providing 12 students with 24 hours of specialized individual assistance to help them pass the course. She also revised course material including four student texts, five workbooks and 311 instructional slides.

Command post instructor --Tech. Sgt. Donald Allen, 334th TRS command post apprentice course instructor. Sergeant Allen produced 60 mission-ready command post
controllers with a 90 percent student average, increasing critical manning by 40 percent.
He created a comprehensive student evaluation checklist that increased instructor/
student training time by 25 percent. He also created 70 new Air Force emergency actions messages and checklists that eliminated outdated material.
