Keesler's commander receives new assignment Published April 1, 2010 By News Staff 81st Training Wing Public Affairs KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, BILOXI, MISS. -- Brig. Gen. Ian Dickinson, 81st Training Wing commander, has been selected for a new assignment as Director, Communications and Information, and Chief Information Officer, Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Co. General Dickinson has not received a report date yet, but a change of command ceremony is expected this summer. "It's a distinct privilege to serve along with the great men and women at Keesler and members of the local community," said General Dickinson. " It will be hard to say goodbye, but I know the mission of the base will continue to thrive thanks to the spectacular support I have seen over the past year." General Dickinson came to Keesler in May 2009 and pinned on the rank of brigadier general in July. He commands 5,000 Airmen and civilians, providing technical training for officers, enlisted and civilians of the Air Force, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve and other Defense Department agencies. The announcement of General Dickinson's replacement is expected soon.
