All Non-Storm Essential Keesler Personnel Ordered to Evacuate Published Aug. 30, 2008 By Keesler News Staff 81st Training Wing KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- The 81st Training Wing commander has ordered an evacuation order for all Keesler non-storm essential employees and all family members no earlier than 6 am and no later than 6 pm effective Sunday, August 31, 2008. All non-storm mission essential personnel and their dependents residing within 75 miles of Keesler AFB are ordered, (and civilians and their dependents residing within 75 miles of Keesler AFB are authorized), to evacuate. Technical training classes for Tuesday, Sept. 2, have been cancelled. Evacuating personnel must evacuate a minimum of 150 miles and shall not exceed a maximum of a 750 mile radius from Keesler AFB. Evacuating personnel shall contact the Keesler Accountability Team, 1-800-673-9356, upon arrival at their evacuation point. After arrival all personnel will contact AF Personnel Center Randolph AFB, 1-800-435-9941, daily for further instructions. Mileage and proportional per diem are authorized. As directed, storm mission essential personnel shall proceed to their designated locations and await further instructions. Once all unit non-storm mission essential members have evacuated and before the unit control center can stand down, they must provide the following information to the ICC director at icc.director@keesler.af.mil with (1) Name of Primary and Alternate Unit POC (2) Telephone Number(s) (3) Their exact location (City, State, and address) All Military who fail to obey this order may be prosecuted under Article 92 of the UCMJ. Be sure evacuating members understand that no evacuation entitlements will be paid if their departure from Keesler or home location is before 6 am, Sunday, Aug. 31. All evacuating non-storm mission essential military members should bring at least one set of ABU/BDU and one set of boots. Rapid Recovery Team members will shelter on base. Each member needs to ensure their Form 21 information is updated to reflect on-base shelter location as soon as possible. Effective August 31, the dining facilities will feed only meal card holders personnel, personnel in TDY status, and mission essential personnel. Meals will be served only from the Magnolia Dining Facility. Hours of operation as follows: breakfast 7:30 - 9 am; lunch 11 am -3 pm; dinner 4 - 8 pm. Evacuating personnel must provide receipts for all expenditures above $75.00 for such expenses as lodging, rental car, or airline transportation. All members are encouraged to visit the per diem website at http://perdiem.hqda.pentagon.mil to become familiar with evacuation entitlements. Personnel who evacuate to a location to co-locate with friends/relatives in a privately owned/rented dwelling or military family housing do not receive lodging reimbursement. Lodging costs are verified via a paid receipt. Cash advances will be given at Keesler AFB to those members who do not have a Government Travel Card.
