Keesler kids invited to a special puppet theater performance Published April 30, 2014 By Lisa Campbell 81st training Wing Public Affairs KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- Watershed Harmony is a musical puppet show, produced by the Bayou Town Puppet Theatre for the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality. Keesler Kids, school-age and older, are invited to the Youth Center on May 8 at 4:15 p.m.,to enjoy this free show. They will delight as Bobby Bass and his River Town friends share their experiences in environmental stewardship through a toe-tapping musical. The entertaining River Town story will teach children about the impact pollution has on the environment and the importance of caring for our waterways. Watershed Harmony serves to inform and enlist the help of citizens in an on-going effort to promote water quality. Keesler Environmental Manager, Janet Lanier reminds us that "all drains end in the bay, so it's very important that we think about what we're putting down both our household and outside drains." This program is just the beginning of Keesler's Environmental Management campaign, "Cease the Grease," an initiative to inform Keesler community members of the impact they make when disposing of grease and other hazardous materials down home drains. For additional information on the puppet theater performance, please call the Youth Center at 228-377-4116.
