ADAPT sponsors alcohol awareness art contest Published March 18, 2014 By Steve Pivnick 81st Medical Group Public Affairs KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- The Keesler Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment Program and First Sergeants' Council are sponsoring an alcohol awareness art contest for children ages 10-17 years old. The 2014 Alcohol Awareness Art Contest is using the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence theme for this year, "Help for today. Hope for tomorrow." ADAPT program manager Capt. Sheontee Frank, 81st Medical Operations Squadron mental health flight, said that the art will be displayed on Child Pride Day, April 5. She said the criteria for entries is to create an 8 ½- x 11-inch art piece to increase alcohol awareness using the 2014 theme. "Entries will be judged by the First Sergeant's Council," Frank added. "Prizes will be awarded to the top three designs during Child Pride Day." Artwork must include the names of the artist and parents, age of the artist and contact numbers on the back. All entries are due at either the Keesler Youth Center or ADAPT office in the Arnold Annex by March 31.
