At 6 p.m. March 11, Keesler is holding a public forum at the West Biloxi Public Library on Pass Road to generate input about the base's ongoing environmental restoration activities.

The meeting is intended as an opportunity to exchange information and strengthen the partnership among citizens, the installation, the Environmental Protection Agency and the state regarding ecological renewal activities on Defense Department installations.

"Keesler takes its role as an environmental steward on the Mississippi Gulf Coast very seriously and is constantly striving to reduce environmental impacts and improve our programs," said

Tasha Golson, 81st Infrastructure Division asset management chief. "It's important for us to seek community input in developing actions to ensure continued protection of human health and the environment."

"The meeting will also allow us to showcase our successes in environmental stewardship, which facilitates positive community relations," she added.
