HAZMAT exercise prepares Keesler for real world
Keesler Firefighters follow decontamination procedures on Senior Airman Ladarrius Drinkard, 81st Aerospace Medicine Squadron, and Airman 1st Class Miles Walker, 81st Force Support Squadron, as they portray “victims” who were contaminated by a chemical agent during a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and high-yield Explosive exercise scenario Nov. 6, 2013, at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. The Force Protection Condition exercise scenario included a suspect posing as a driver making a delivery to the Locker House and spraying a chemical on a group of Airmen as they were assisting him with unloading the packages from the truck. Immediately, the Airmen simulated receiving eye irritations, excessive sweating, chest pain, choking, and vomiting from exposure to the chemical. (U.S. Air Force photo by Kemberly Groue)
