Keesler's newest Staff Sgt. selects Published Aug. 1, 2013 By Susan Griggs 81st Training Wing Public Affairs KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- The staff sergeant promotion list released Aug. 1 included 84 senior airmen from Keesler. In this cycle, 11,212 of the 34,078 eligible members across the Air Force were chosen for a 32.9 selection rate. The Keesler selection rate was 27.81 percent, according to Gary Schafer, chief of the 81st Force Support Squadron military personnel section. The average score for selected members was 291.07, with 1.98 time in grade and 4.51 time in service. The average time in grade was 1.98 years and time in service was 4.51. Average scores were 131.84 for enlisted performance reports, 0.98 decorations, 64.77 promotion fitness examination and 63.48 for specialty knowledge test.
