Technology is changing rapidly and research shows that people want their information as quickly and conveniently as possible. This is true here at Keesler with the numerous events occurring every day. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with who is hosting what and on what day.

Luckily, the Air Force has an app that centralizes the happenings of Keesler into one place. It is called, "My Military Communities," or MyMC2. It's a free app that puts all base events into the convenience of your smart phone. The app is available through Apple's App Store and the Android Market.

The app was first developed at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois in 2012, and has been implemented at Keesler recently. The app works directly through organizational Facebook pages and pulls its events into the central location of the app. Through a recent push here, more Facebook pages were added to the app and even more information is now available to the user.

The app has a calendar along with a directory of the Facebook pages connected to the app. Users can get up-to-date information of what's happening at Keesler as easily as clicking a button. The best thing about the app is that it is free and can be used when you change duty stations. All you have to do is change your base in your settings.
MyMC2 offers two quick call buttons that connect to Airman Against Drunk Driver and the Sexual Assault hotline.

I encourage everyone to download the app because the more participation there is with the users, the better the app will be. The app gets its information directly from the organizational Facebook pages.

To download the free app, search MyMC2 or "My Military Communities" in your app store.
