Traffic enforcement information

While on Keesler, personnel and family members are subject to certain laws that may differ from the surrounding communities.

Cell phone usage
· Cellular phones are only authorized with the use of a hands-free device.
· Using the speakerphone function of a cell phone while holding the device is not considered "hands-free".
· For violations, seven-day suspension of driving privileges for first offense, 30 days for second offense and one year for third offense.

Speed limits
· Maximum speed on Keesler is 25 mph unless posted or indicated.
· Family housing and unpaved surfaces are 15 mph.
· Parking lots are 5 mph.
· When driving in close proximity to marching formations, the speed limit is 10 mph.
· Drive with caution in areas where children are present.
· For violations, 30-day suspension of driving privileges for first offense, 90 days for second offense and one year for third offense. All offenses must occur within one year for revocation to take effect.

Parking
· Do not impede the normal flow of traffic.
· Do not park in between the "no parking" signs in the housing areas.
· Do not park within 15 feet of fire hydrants or in any manner that will obstruct the fire hydrant.
· Do not park on or within 30 feet of a stop sign or yield sign.
· Do not park in front of a public or private driveway.
· For violations, a warning is given for the first two offenses, followed by a 30-day suspension for third offense, 60 days for fourth offense and 90 days for fifth offense, all within one year.

Curfew
Curfews apply to individuals 17 years or younger.
· Sunday-Thursday: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
· Friday and Saturday: 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
