Keesler to host Media Day

  • Published

Media representatives are cordially invited to participate in a Keesler Air Force Base Media Day here Oct. 26 from 7:30 a.m. to noon.

Media Day is an opportunity for local media agencies to get a better understanding of Keesler’s Airmen and mission. It is also an opportunity to cultivate relationships and help spark future story ideas highlighting the training mission, medical, infrastructure and support services here.

On any given day, more than 5,000 students attend classes in one of more than 600 courses at Keesler. During Media Day, participants will get an up-close look at the air traffic control, weather and cyber training missions; view Keesler’s flightline from the air traffic control tower; witness weapons training at the indoor firing range; check out the medical group’s labor and delivery training mannequin, critical care air transport team, operating room and the da Vinci Xi robot, the first robotic surgery system in the Air Force.

Media interested in attending this event should RSVP to the 81st Training Wing Public Affairs office no later than noon Oct. 23. Call (228) 377-1179 or email 81trw.pa@us.af.mil
