Keesler hosts 2017 Special Olympics

Keesler is set to host the 2017 Special Olympics Mississippi Summer Games, May 19-20.

Events begin Friday, May 19 with an opening ceremony at 5:30 p.m. at the Levitow Training Support Facility, followed by the arrival of the "Flame of Hope" at 6 p.m. at the base’s White Avenue Gate.

Sporting events begin Saturday, May 20 at 9 a.m. and include track and field, weightlifting, aquatics, and bowling among others, and events conclude at the closing ceremony at 7:30 p.m.
