Keesler Air Force Base will host 188 cadets from Air Force ROTC detachments April 7 and 8 as part of “Pathways to Blue,” a diversity outreach event hosted by 2nd Air Force, 81st Training Wing and the 403rd Wing here.

The cadets will receive an orientation flight along with hands-on briefings on technical and flying operations in support of the Air Force’s Diversity Strategic Roadmap program.

The main goal of the outreach event is to provide the cadets from Mississippi State University, Louisiana State University, Troy University, Tuskegee University, University of Houston, University of Alabama and Jackson State University a glimpse of critically manned Air Force career fields.

The mentors from several Air Force specialties will provide one-on-one and small group instruction and advice. The two-day schedule includes orientation sessions in science technology engineering and mathematics (STEM), operations, and support areas such as cyber, battlefield Airmen, medical, and aircrew flight operations. The visit will also include T-1, T-6, TH-1H, and C-130 static displays, a C-130J orientation flight with the 403rd Wing.
