Keesler holds annual Operation Hero
KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- Keesler Air Force Base will host its annual, Operation Hero event, at the corner of Second Street and E Street from 9-11 a.m., Oct. 10.
This event gives Keesler's dependent children the opportunity to experience what a deployment is like for their parents.
Children will receive a pre-deployment mission briefing, go through a deployment line to collect their gear, put on "war paint," and "deploy" to an undisclosed location.
The event also includes a night vision tent, Meals Ready to Eat tasting, a K-9 demonstration and several military vehicles for the kids to enjoy.
