Operation Hero allows children to experience a "deployment"

KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- Keesler Air Force Base will host its bi-annual event, Operation Hero, Saturday, Oct. 13 at 9 a.m.

This event gives Keesler's dependent children an opportunity to experience what a deployment is like for their parents.

Children will receive a pre-deployment mission briefing from Gen. Brad Spacy, 81st Training Wing commander, go through a deployment line to collect their gear, put on "war paint," and "deploy" to an undisclosed location.
